ProjectDNA: Gaming To Your Heart’s Content

ProjectDNA: The Gamer’s Continuum is the premier event where a crowd of enthusiastic gamers play to their hearts’ content while making friends last Saturday at WORQ Coworking Space, Subang.

Organised by ServerDNA, the event aims to celebrate the gaming experience regardless of their preferred choice of gaming platforms, from consoles to PC to even, mobile phones from people in all walks of life.

Program director Wong Kay Vin said ProjectDNA is created as a spin-off to ServerDNA, which is the largest PC community conference that unites gamers, PC modders, streamers, influencers, and esports personalities under one roof.

“ProjectDNA is a part of build-up initiative, which is like a nationwide roadshow event leading to the main event (ServerDNA) from this month onwards up to 6 months. We want to bring this concept of gaming and technology exhibition to all the regions in Malaysia.

“It needs to be educational and not just purely tournament-driven to bring all the gamers together. But, our main focus is cross-platform gaming as you see the attendees are enjoying console games powered by PCs so we are blurring the boundaries between PC and consoles,” said Kay Vin.

There were various activities conducted in ProjectDNA. One of them was King of the Hills Challenges, which is to see who’s the best of the best for 6 titles such as FIFA19, Call of Duty, Tekken 7 and many more.

Visitors can put on VR glasses to slash beat blocks in Beat Saber, relive the musical memories of Guitar Hero in Clone Hero, and enjoy various multiplayer and co-op games such as Monster Hunter: World, Injustice 2, Overcooked 2 and more with other players.

Kay Vin also hopes to incorporate a King of the Hills qualifier for CS:GO in five locations: Ipoh, Kuantan, Johor Bahru, Penang, and Kuching in the upcoming ProjectDNA’s gathering. He explained the gist of the tournament, “We’re going to choose the top 2 champions in each location and they will be playing in the next ServerDNA.”

The project director revealed to MyGameOn that the next ProjectDNA will be held in February.
