Soulcalibur 6 Has Been Announced By The Creators Of The Tekken Series

Rumours of a new Soulcalibur game has been surfacing for the past month and has finally been unveiled by Bandai Namco Entertainment, developers of the Tekken series, at The Game Awards 2017.

From the video shown, we can see a young-looking Mitsurugi battling Sophitia. The game is developed in the same Unreal Engine 4 that Tekken 7 used and it looks to be using a dynamic camera angle. The thing that caught our eyes was that both character swords seem to be changing in intensity of colors during different fight interval which hints to be a new game mechanic

The last entry in the series, Soulcalibur 5 was released back in 2012. Since then, Bandai Namco has re-released an HD version of Soulcalibur 2 and released Soulcalibur: Lost Swords, a free-to-play version of the game based on Soulcalibur 5. Soulcalibur 6 will release next year 2018 on Steam, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

It looks like 2018 will have many new exciting lineups for the fighting game genre such as Dragon Ball FighterZ, Street fight V: Arcade Edition and Soulcalibur 6. In addition to this, the fighting games scene has been growing strong in Malaysia with the recent FV Cup 2017 and local tournaments organised by local gaming communities such as Kitamen and Geek Empire.
